Aas Mohammed, who was caught with a pistol and a blade from the Narmdeshwar Mahadev temple of village Ikla, first told very dangerous intentions in the police interrogation but later said that it was all a lie. This left the police badly confused. He was sent to jail on Tuesday but officials say that he will be taken on remand so that the truth can be known. He said during interrogation that he was associated with an organization. The organization has hatched a conspiracy to kill religious leaders who made hate statements.
He was caught by the servants of the temple at 12 o’clock on Sunday night. He had told the servitors that Mahamandaleshwar Prabodhanand Giri of Juna Akhara gives provocative and hate speech, so he has come to kill him. Salim of Muzaffarnagar has given him 70 thousand rupees for this. Salim also called Kandhla and gave the pistol. After handing him over to the police, he said that he had lied in front of the servants. He once again said on Tuesday morning that he had come only to kill Prabodhanand but on being caught lied that he had come to become his disciple.
He was questioned by the Special Task Force (STF), the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) and the Crime Branch for a day on Monday and till he was sent to jail on Tuesday afternoon. In this he said that he has joined an organization. Salim is in this organization. The organization has hatched a conspiracy to kill such religious leaders who are spreading hatred and hurting the sentiments of the people. However, he retracted it just before being produced in the court. He said that he was lying to avoid being beaten up by the police.
Prabodhanand Giri had said after his arrest that he had been sent only to kill him. Ever since he gave a speech against jihadis in Haridwar’s Parliament of Religions, attempts are being made to kill him. They have also been attacked. He is 34 years old and has done B.A. The police have also imposed a section against him for making forged documents. Sections of murderous assault, hurting religious sentiments, conspiracy have also been imposed on him. Police say that he prepared forged documents to mislead people.
